The QMX+ is very compact, but we can do more! The GNSS module is bundled with a external GNSS antenna with a looooong wire. This is fine when operating from inside a house (the antenna can be put near a window, or even out of a window) but for mobile operations, this is too much wire.
I had the idea to make some frames to put at each end of the case, with folding feets and some protection for the rear connectors and the buttons, but for now the first iteration of the 3D printed extension is only about the GNSS antenna.
I plan to desolder the U.FL ended wire and replace it with an angled SMA one. Stay tune!
